December 3 – Northern Cardinal

The Cardinals are upset that I switched out their favorite feeder (moving to an open locations instead of under the magnolia tree). 2 females high up in the magnolia have been squawking all day. The male just sits in the near-by pine and waits. The magnolia is viewable from this pine.

I moved the feeder back this morning (12/5) and they are happy again. The House Sparrows empty it out so fast though. I was trying to deter them by moving it originally. I think I will try different seed instead after the Cardinal protest.
