Sunday Outing – March 15, 2009

You can’t really tell but there is a Belted Kingfisher on a branch overhanging the water, I swear.



Purple Finch and Dark-eyed Junco Slate

It was a nice day for bird watching. Cool in the AM but it warmed up very nicely to about 60+ degrees by afternoon.

This is what we saw:

Tufted Titmouse 3
Downey Woodpecker 4
White-breasted Nuthatch 2
Carolina Chickadee 2

Great Blue Heron 1
Belted Kingfisher 1
Pileated Woodpecker 2
Northern Flicker 1
American Tree Sparrow 1
Northern Mockingbird 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler 2
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Dark-eyed Junco 1
American Robin 3
American Crow 2
Brown-headed Cowbird 6
